Day 1/ Arrival
Meet and greet at Tbilisi International Airport. Transfer to hotel.
Day 2/ Tbilisi city sightseeing tour
We start our Tbilisi sightseeing tour to get acquainted with the city. Walking through the historical part of the city and enjoying the unique combination of cultures. Meandering through the narrow streets of the city we will come-across various religious buildings: Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, Wooden houses built in the 19th century with colorful balconies, sulphur baths, the Narikala fortress. Next, we take in the Georgian National Museum, where a great many intricate Georgian treasures are preserved. After you will have a free time for shopping.
Day 3/ Tbilisi – Ananuri – Gudauri – Tbilisi
We will start our tour with Jinvali, which is the largest reservoir of eastern Georgia. Following this, you will head toward the fortress of Ananuri, which is one of the best monuments of late feudal Georgia, and although there are not so few of these monuments in Georgia, it is Ananuri that helps people understand exactly how people lived at that distant time. Ananurian structures, unlike other similar cultures, are perfectly preserved. This particular feature evokes interest in the fortress of both tourists and historians, and since 2012, the fortress has the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the early afternoon, you will experience Gudauri, a ski resort situated on a south-facing plateau of the greater Caucasus Mountain, 2,200 meters above sea level, here in case of desire you will skiing. Drive back to Tbilisi.
Day 4/ Tbilisi – Sighnaghi – Tbilisi
We take the road to the Kakheti region. This side of Georgia is considered the homeland of wine. However, apart from winemaking, Kakheti is distinguished by monuments of different periods and diverse nature. Here we will visit the fortified town Sighnaghi to have an excursion around the Sighnaghi City, which leaves a special impression with its beautiful streets and distinctive natural location. We will walk along the cobbled streets with colorful houses and balconies, enjoy the amazing view of the snow-capped Caucasus Mountains and the vast valley of Alazani. The town has two central squares with casinos, banks, mayor’s office and a wedding house where one can marry anytime of the day. This is the reason why Sighnaghi is called the city of lovers. After we will visit to Stepantsminda Church, a central museum of the city. Drive back to Tbilisi, transfer to the hotel.
In the evening we will walk on Rustaveli Avenue, which is fabulously decorated for the New Year. The clock strikes twelve against the backdrop of a beautiful, colorful firework display and a festive celebration. We will greet New Year with locals. The overall festive mood is especially felt here and blurs the line between locals and foreign visitors. The elevated mood will continue at the Georgian feast. Drive back to Tbilisi.
Day 5/ Tbilisi-Batumi by train
We will pick you up to transfer to the train station. Here you will take a direct train to Batumi. At the train station of Batumi, we will meet you and transfer to the hotel.
Day 6/ Batumi city tour
We will drive to Batumi Botanical Garden, which is located on the Green Cape and offers amazing views of the Black Sea. Established in 1880, it is the biggest and the oldest botanical garden in the South Caucasus, and hosts an incredible collection of more than 2,000 species of trees. We’ll return to Batumi for a walking tour around the old city. Here, most of the houses were built in the 19th century and you can feel history come alive in the rows of small shops where craftsmen are making copper ware, and in the small cafés that produce a magnificent aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The old city is known for its variety of small and intricate architectural details: buildings are decorated with chimeras, mermaids, atlantes, and other mythical creatures. We’ll also visit Batumi’s Europe Square, Piazza Square, Alphabetic tower, and Ali and Nino statue, and take a cab le car ride on Georgia’s second longest cableway (about 6 minutes).
Day 7/ Batumi Surroundings
We will drive to the nature in upper Adjara Region and visit Makhuntseti Waterfall, Bridge of Queen Tamar, you will have free time for shopping in Batumi.
Day 8/ Batumi – Tbilisi by train - Departure
Check out from the hotel. Transfer to the train station at scheduled time. Meeting at Tbilisi Train Station and transfer to the airport.
